There are special people in our lives who never leave us; even after they are gone. Willie James Williams was born on Tuesday, May 31, 1949, in Mound Bayou, Mississippi to the late Willie F. Williams and Matter Fortner. He was the oldest of nineteen children. Growing up, he was raised by his paternal grandmother, Ruth Dunn Williams, and his stepmother Cora Williams.
Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories. Willie accepted Christ as his Savior with Green Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Doddsville, Mississippi, where he served until his death. As a teen, he attended Shaw High School and East Side High School, but completed his education through Job Corps. In early years, Willie worked for the Nehi Bottling Company in Cleveland, Mississippi, and Scobey Moving and Storage in Killeen, Texas. Later, he worked at Walmart in Cleveland, Mississippi, as a Supervisor until he retired.
As luck would have it, Willie met Diann and they both fell in love with each other. They vowed before God to cling to each other for an eternity and became husband and wife. To their union, a blended family was formed including two boys and two girls. He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with family and friends, hosting family functions, traveling with his wife, and spending quality time with his grandchildren.
