Mrs. Willie Mae Shanklin was born November 9, 1951 in Tribett, Mississippi She was the daughter of the late Mr. Johnny Blair and Mrs. Clara Blair. As a child she attended O'Bannon High School. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age in Leland, MS at St. Peter M.B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Jordan. Later in her marriage to Robert L. Shanklin, Jr., they joined Mt. Galilee under Pastor T. Alexander. At the time of her transition she was a member of Victory Temple pastured by Pastor L. Williams.
