Reflection of Life

" For the word of God is alive and active.  Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."   Hebrews 4:12

Willie "Pete" Price was born to the parents of Albert and Viola Price on March 20, 1944 in Ruleville, MS.  God in his infinite wisdom was aware that the road was getting rough and the hills hard to climb.  He closed "Pete" peaceful and loving eyelids and whispered "peace be thine".  He put his arms around and lifted Pete to rest.  God know that he could not stay another day on this earth to love, laugh, play or work.  Pete, seventy-nine years old, went to be with the Lord on November 8, 2023 at Allegiance Specialty Hospital in Greenville, Mississippi.

Pete confessed his hope in Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. B.B. Bailey at St. Mary M.B. Church.  Later he joined the New Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Joe Smith and now New Zion under the leadership of Rev. Ollie Shaw.  He was a faithful member and active deacon until his health began to fail.  In his early years he used to sing in a Gospel group.  He did farm and factory work.  He retired in 1997 from Sunflower County Road Department.

He is preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Bob Brown, Kenneth Price and Johnnie Price.

We mourn his death, but we celebrate the way he lived his life.  He leaves to cherish his memory 4 sons:  David Greer, Ruleville, MS, Anthony (Traci) Holloway, Springfield, IL, Lafonte (Christal) Price, Dalton, GA, Jefferey Scott, Memphis, TN, Joe King, Doddsville, MS; Four loving daughters:  Francheete (Ri'Chard) Eskridge of Indianola, MS, C. "Tea" Jackson (Lonel) of Ruleville, MS, Kimberly Scott (Derrick) Jones of Cordova, TN; Georgetta Price, Drew, MS; Four brothers, Robert (Ruth) Price of Las Vegas, NV, Roy Henry (Shirley) Price, Ruleville, MS., Jerome Price, Turlock, CA, Steven Price, Las Banaos, CA; Seven sisters, Mary Ann & Georgia Price, Ruleville, MS, Rosie Marie Price, Palmdale, CA, Cynthia Price, Lancaster, CA, Hattie Price, Hawthorne, CA, Barbara (Larry) Williams, Ruleville, MS, Earline Adams, Arizona, Marita Williams, Greenville, MS; Goddaughter, Ollie Booker, Vicksburg, MS; 18 grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
