Obituary

Willie Lee Birge, Jr., affectionately called "Maine" was born August 4, 1945 in Washington County, MS to the late Willie Lee Birge, Sr. and PAstor Rose Mae Brown. He confessed his belief in Christ at the Church of God in Christ in Hollandale,MS under the leadership of the late Elder Potts at an early age.

"Main" as he was often called, attended Hollandale Public Schools in Washington County. The family later moved to Merigold, Ms. His working skills began at Refus Service Station and ended at Douglas & Lomason Co. in Cleveland, MS. He was later employed at Lake PArk Plaza in Chicago, Illinois where he remained until he retired.

He later met the love of his life, Corine Rash and to this union three children were born. Willie and his wife, Corine relocated to Chicago, Illinois where he remained until his health failed.

Willie was preceded in death by his son, Lamario Birge (2019); his mother, Rosie Birge(2020), father, Willie Lee Birge Sr.(1994) and sister, Mary J. Birge (1987).

WIllie departed his earthly home to enter his heavenly home on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 9:10a.m., at the home of his loving daughter, Patricia Pippin.

HE leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Corine Birge of Chicago, IL;daughters: Patricia(Darren) Pippin of Lansing, IL and katherine (Jimmie III) Griffin of Cleveland, MS; son, Huey Rash of Chicago, IL; five brothers; Leroy (Marjorie) Birge of Cleveland, MS; Robert( Ethel) Birge of Jacksonville, AR, L.M. Birge of Cleveland, Ms, Roger E. Birge of Cleveland,MS and Ruso A. Birge of Jacksonville, AR; two sisters: Betty ( Leroy) payne of Cleveland, MS and Dorothy Morris of Cleveland, MS; four grandchildren: Carlos Beckles, Jr. of Hammond, IN, Quashae Griffin and Aleria Griffin, both of Cleveland, MS and Nevaeh Birge of Chicago, Il; one great grandchild, Ava J. Beckles of Hammond IN.
