William Rogers Jr., affectionately known as "William Jr.," was born on July 4, 1958, in Sunflower County, Mississippi, to the late William Rogers Sr. and Lula Palmer Rogers. On April 9, 2025, at Cleveland Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, William Jr. peacefully departed this life at the age of 66.

William Jr. was a kindhearted, soft-spoken, and a humble man whose gentle spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Known for his impeccable craftsmanship, he was highly skilled in painting and sheetrock work, talents he pursued with a great pride and dedication. Beyond his labor, William Jr. was a gifted dancer who brought joy to those around him through his graceful movements and infectious energy.

A man of quiet but enduring faith, William Jr. believed deeply in the abilities of his beloved daughter whom he affectionately called his "Angel." He often expressed unwavering confidence in her ability to "fix anything and everything when it comes to him," a testament to the bond they shared.

William Jr. received his early education at Sunflower County Elementary School and continued his studies at Ruleville Middle School. Throughout his life, he remained closely connected to his family and community.

On May 31, 1988, William Jr. united in holy matrimony with Herdestine Stone Rogers, a union built on love, mutual respect, and shared devotion. Together, they raised a strong family, of 3 including Fredrieka Johnson-Rogers, whom they lovingly embraced and nurtured as their daughter years later.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Herdestine Stone-Rogers, his father, William Rogers Sr.; his mother, Lula Palmer Rogers; his brother, Willie Lee Rogers; his sister, Bernice Conway; and his great-granddaughter, Taya Jefferson.

He leaves to cherish his memory three devoted daughters: Thyeshia Stone-Keys (Larry); Tyinika Stone-Shaw (Jerome); and Fredieka Johnson-Rogers, all of Southaven, MS. He is also survived by his one and only son, Roger Price (Patricia) of Memphis, TN.

Four faithful brothers mourn his passing: James Earl Rogers (Bobbie Ann) of St. Louis, Missouri; Clyde Rogers and Robert Rogers, both of Ruleville, MS, and Raymond Clark of Jackson, MS.

His legacy also lives on through eight loving sisters: Betty Mae Marlow (Michael), Reola Hollins, Doris Hicks Green, Barbara Taylor, and Jannette Parks, all of Ruleville, MS; Diane Jones of Florida; and Brenda Clark of Drew, MS.

He was a proud grandfather who dearly loved his grandchildren: Tierra Keys, Christian Keys, Antavius Nash, Anthony Nash Jr., Ty'Kirra Nash - his personal nurse and caregiver, Kingsley Kelly, Mahogany Shaw, who he affectionately called "Pretty Red Gul," Jameah Price, Taytianna Price, Martavious Washington, and Enisha Alford. Each grandchild brought him immense joy and was a source of pride throughout his life.

In addition, he is lovingly remembered by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and dear friends. An honorable mention is reserved for his favorite cousin, Donnie Palmer and nephew, Terry Conway, with whom William Jr. resided with for a short time.

William Jr.'s life was a reflection of humility, craftsmanship, kindness, and unwavering love for his family. His memory will forever remain a treasured light in the hearts of those privileged to have known him.
