Ms. Vivian McNeil was born on December 9, 1952 in Rosedale, MS to the late Andrew McNeil & Charleaner Weathers. She departed this life on April 4, 2022, at Delta Health The Medical Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, DeShaun McNeil as well as two sisters, Rosetta Gresham and Florida Jordan.
Vivian accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Beulah, MS under the leadership of the ate Reverend Charlie Moore.
Vivian was a 1970 graduate of the Nugent High in Benoit, MS. After graduating high school, she moved to St. Louis, MO where she thoroughly enjoyed being a resident there. While residing in St. Louis, she furthered her education at St. Louis Community College. She worked diligently as a school bus driver for the St. Louis Public Schools District for many years. In 1988, after moving to Chicago, IL, Vivian obtained her trucking license, after which she began driving 18-wheeler trucks across the country.
After embarking upon retirement in 2008, Vivian relocated back to Greenville, MS where she became a member of Jake's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, she faithfully served as an usher. In 2019, after frequently fellowshipping with her family at The Way Church, Vivian made a decision to unite with The Way Church Family under the leadership of Apostle Darrell & Norchell Evans where she remained a member until her demise. She faithfully attended services at The Way Church until she began to experience health challenges; even while challenged Vivian enjoyed visits with her fellow church members.
Her life and legacy will be forever remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer (Gregory) Evans, Sr. of Greenville, MS; her grandchildren, Antonio (Kymesha) Andrew, Gregory Evans, Jr., Quincy West, Jerrolda Evans, Jerracius (Jasmine) Evans, Grenecia Evans, LeShaun McNeil, Rayshaun Thomas, Deshaun McNeil, Jr., Shauntrice McNeil, Lyla McNeil, My'Shaun Pruett, Nira Nashaun Carter; 13 great- grandchildren; her sisters, Bernice (Al) McNeil & Irene Williams both of Greenville, MS; her brothers; Willie McNeil of Greenville, MS and Nathaniel (Donna) McNeil of Santa Ana, CA; one aunt, Irene Moore, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
