Vester Mae Grays, a native of Ruleville, MS., lived her last days in Byram, MS at Edgewood nursing facility. She was born on January 10, 1948, to the late Mr. Sylvester and Inez Grays. She was a graduate of Ruleville Central High where she earned her diploma. She confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a member of William Chapel M.B. Church. She served as the cook and also hosted friends and family every year at church.
On August 23, 2026, she was called home to be with the Lord. Preceded her in death, a daughter, Melissa Young, three sisters, Doreather Paige, Dollie Reed and Annie Smith and two brothers, R.J. Anderson and Slyvester Gray Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter Monica (Lonnie Jackson III), two sons: Monzean Thomas and Myron Thomas; two sisters: Freddie (Northy Turner) and Ruth Washington; and a special sister in Christ, Joann Hoskin. She had a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
