Velma Tucker - Moore, gracefully 87 years old, of Lake Village, AR, preceded to release her earthly mold on May 31, 2023, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, MS.

Velma was born to Mary McCree-Tucker and Dan Tucker on June 11, 1935, along with a twin sister (the Late Thelma Young).  Velma is preceded in death by her daughter, Deloise Harper, her husband, A.C. Moore, her mother, Mary McCree-Tucker, her father Dan Tucker, brothers:  Willie Tucker, Fredrick Tucker, Howard Bell, Dan Tucker, Jr., Charlie and David Tucker; sisters, Gladys Dye, Laura Randall, Martha Bell and her twin sister, Thelma Young; two sisters-in-laws that were like sisters, Irene Moore and Charlene Weathers.

Velma attended school in the Little Rock District until the eleventh grade where she insisted on assisting with the living cost at home by working in the farm-fields.

One Saturday in 1948, Velma gave her life to Christ at Mt. Olive M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Charlie Moore.  Later joining membership at Silver Mount M. B. Church under the direction of Rev. Charlie Moore.  She finalized her membership at the New Morning Star Church in Grapeland, MS in 1996 under the leadership of Rev. R. L. Smith.

In 1950, she met A. C. Moore and they were wedded in 1951 and during the maturity years, Velma antedated a member of the OES.

Velma worked as a nanny, a housekeeper, a custodian, and the world's famous bus driver number 58 for the Nugent Center School.  Velma was an advocator, a motivator, a supporter, inspirational, most of all she was an awesome mother, grandmother, wife, friend, and colleague. Not only did she touch the life of her family, but she touched the lives of all she encountered keeping God first in everything she did and spoke.  Her love was unconditional, and her faith never wavered.  She stood firm on her beliefs and trusted in God with her whole heart.

Velma became a Delta Jewel in the Home Living magazine in Wednesday's, November 13, 2013, catalog under the work of a brilliant writer Alysia Burton-Steele.

Beginning in 1953 after marriage, Velma and A. C. Moore extended their love and legacy on to 15 children, leaving to cherish their memories, teachings, upbringings and relationship with God. They leaves Essie (Henry) Smith of California, Reola (the late Clarence) Allen of California, Helen (Willie) Farris of Benoit, Bonita (Robert) Howard of Rosedale, the late Deloise (Roy) of California, Anthony (Vivian) Moore of Beulah, L.C. (the late LaRita) Moore of California, Willie (Milverta) Moore of Chicago, Percel Moore of Moorhead, Johnny (Patricia) Moore of Beulah, Lucille (Sylvester) Hawk of Leland, Bertha (Nicklas) Thomas of Beulah, Fredrick (Georgia) Moore of Nantucket, Patricia Moore of Nantucket, and Thelma (Patrick) Grayer of Benoit as well as an adopted son Contrell Moore of Benoit.

Velma was the grandmother of 80 grandchildren, 128 great-grandchildren, 30 great-greatgrandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, former associates, as well as 3 godchildren:  Alberta Perkins, Dorothy Lewis, and Lorette Williams, and a special friend:  Mrs. Adrian Mitchell to cherish her memories and to continually seeking the kingdom of heaven.
