Theresa Ann Shelley, lovingly known as "Resa", was born on August 24, 1973 in Greenville, Mississippi to the late Willie Lee and Willie B Banes Shelley. To know Resa was to truly love her vibrant spirit and infectious personality. She had a gift for bringing joy to any room with her humor, lively conversation, and boundless energy.
Resa was a natural comedian, a sharp dresser, a talented dancer and singer, and a creative soul who loved decorating. Above all, she was the life of every party and a devoted mother and grandmother who poured her heart into her family. Her warmth, charisma, and zest for life were unforgettable.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Willie Lee and Willie B. Barnes Shelley; her brother, Lee Andrew Charles Barnes; her sister, Mary A. Ramos; and her cherished niece, Ke'Arica "KeKe" Shelley.
Resa leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter to be cherished by her three children: Patrick L. and Krystal Shelley of Greenville, MS; and Samantha (Joseph) Shelley of Horn Lake, MS. She was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren: Amerria Cooks, Patrick L. Jr., Rhy'lee Shelley, Ka'Marion Riley, Ja'Lahani Ireland, La'Kya Jones, Jabari Coffey, A'Miracle Shelley, Ma'Kaylah Shelley, and Ma'Kinzee Shelley.
She is survived by her eight loving sisters: Phyllis and Martha Barnes, Frances and Linda Shelley, Debbie (Tarrett) Ricks, Regina (Cedric) Byars, all of Greenville, MS; Danita Barnes of Ridgeland, MS; and Sherley (Dennis) Barnes of Horn Lake, MS. Resa also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, a special cousin, Pamela White, and a dear friend, Denise Thomas.
Resa's legacy of laughter, love, and light will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
