Obituary

Sylvester Spry was born to the late Sidney and Alberta Spry, a farmer and a homemaker, in Chicago, IL on October 14, 1959. Sylvester later relocated to Darlove, MS where he grew up, became a farmer, and lived with a large and loving family.

He was the father of 4 and a colorful soul that graced us with his presence for 61 years until his transition. Sylvester helped raise his children- as well as some of his nieces and nephews- with love, discipline, and humility. He taught them many trades of life with the most important being to always remember to laugh.

Sylvester was known for his bright personality, his colorful language, and his ability to bring life to any room he was in. But more than anything else, the memory of his laughter and happy facial expressions- which were best described by his late mother as "grinning like a ches cat"- will be etched in the minds and hearts of those that love him forever. he will be dearly missed by his loved ones.

Sylvester is survived by his daughter Yolanda Hunter; his sons: Robert Hunter, Sylvester Hunter, and Diamond Bonney; his 9 grandchildren; his sisters: Alice (Major) Washington, Ernest ( Roslyn) Henley, Adell and Idell Henley, Carrie Henley, Lisa Spry, Queen( Willie) Rowry, Walter Spry, and Juanita Spry; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Sylvester was preceded in death by his sisters Maggie Mae Rose and Ruthie Harris; his brothers Sidney Spry, Roger Spry, and his parents.
