Obituary

Stanley Cary Tucker departed this life on May 12, 2022, at Bolivar Medical Center, Cleveland, MS.

Stan was born on December 6, 1958, to the late Clines and Cornelia Tucker. He confessed his life to Christ at an early age at St, Matthews M.B. Church (C.A. Burke M.B. Church) under the leadership of Pastor C.A. Burke in Rosedale, MS.

He attended school in Rosedale, MS. In high school, he played basketball and graduated in May of 1976. After graduating, Stan attended Mississippi Delta Community College, Moorhead, MS. He enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard in Fort Shi, OK as a PV1 where he honorably discharged on August 24, 1982. After the military, he held several jobs and was a very hard worker in whatever he set his mind to. Stan lived his life in Rosedale, MS, Chicago, IL, Memphis, TN, and was settled in Peoria, IL. Stan enjoyed life to the fullest and always showed love and compassion to everyone that he encountered.

Stan is preceded in death by his father: Cline Tucker, his mother: Cornelia Tucker, his brother: Derrick Tucker, grandfathers: Jimmy Tucker and Charlie Freeman, grandmothers: Christine Tucker and Millie Freeman, aunt: Evelyn Toy, godmother: Nettie Burke along with several other aunts and uncles.

He leaves to cherish his most precious memories, a very special loving friend: Christine Venson, Peoria, IL; one son: Tanaryea Slaughter, Memphis, TN; three daughters: Telisha (Keswie) Cartwright, Rosedale, MS; Joycelyn Saunders and Unika Venson both of Chicago, IL; six sisters: Marion Evans, Odessa, TX, Tracy (Michael) Norman, Rosedale, MS, Crystal (Marc) Basfield, Peoria, IL, Katrina (Marvin) Robinson, Jackson, MS; Cassandra (Otis) Bennett, Cordova, TN; and Daphyn Tucker, Jackson, MS. Eight grandchildren, five aunts: Pastor Elnora Littleton, Rosedale, MS; Vivian Freeman, Linda Freeman, Beverly Freeman, Pamela (Ray) Kholer all of Chicago, IL; two uncles: Larry Freeman, Chicago, IL and James Parkman, Peoria, IL. Twelve nieces and four nephews along with several cousins and good friends.
