Mrs. Sonya Brown Monroe was born on August 17, 1970 in Shelby, MS to Luebirtha Brown-Jennings and Roosevelt Funches. Sonya confessed a belief in Christ at an early age at Galilee M.B. Church in Gunnison, MS under the leadership of Reverend Julius Christian. On February 23, 1996, Sonya was united in holy matrimony to Percy L. Monroe. Sonya departed this life on October 8, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, MS.
