Shirley Deloris Wallace was born on October 5, 1962, at North Sunflower Hospital in Ruleville, Mississippi. On December 21, 2025, she peacefully transitioned from this life in the comfort of her home, surrounded by love.

At an early age, Shirley confessed her hope in Christ and united with Smith Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Minter City, Mississippi. Later in life, she continued her faith journey as a devoted member of Beulah Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Itta Bena, Mississippi.

Her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life. Shirley received her education in the Greenwood Public School System and graduated from Amanda Elzy High School in Greenwood, Mississippi in 1982.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Precious Palmer Sr.; her brothers, John Henry and Precious Palmer, Jr.; her sister, Murlean Beckum; and her grandchildren, Jonathan White and Sharmense Palmer.

Shirley leaves to cherish her loving memories her devoted husband of 35 years, Travis Wallace Sr.; her beloved childten: Nikita King (Markeviel) of Drew, MS; Michelle Palmer (Terrell) of Horn Lake, MS; Michael Palmer (Sheena) of Greenwood, MS; Kevin Palmer (Aberteneshia) of Drew, MS, Travis Wallace Jr. (Sharon) of Greenwood, MS; and Alexis Young (Javanskey) of Drew, MS.

She is also survived by her siblings: Lee Earl Palmer (Gracie) of Greenwood, MS; Charles Palmer (Juanita) and James Palmer (Sherry) of St. Louis, MO; Robert Palmer of Detroit, MI; Precious Maybry (Angie) of St. Louis, MO; Herman Clark (Katrina) of Jackson, MS; Antonio Crane of Chicago, IL; Orlando Robinson of Pontiac, MI; Vester Palmer, Clara Palmer and Etha Hollins of St. Louis, MO; Ruby King of Drew, MS; Ebony Simmons (Elijah) and Latonya Thomas of Glendora, MS.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a special cousin, Doris Rogers, along with 28 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church ffamily, and friends. Shirley was well known for her famous homemade Carmel cakes.
