Obituary

Sherolyn Leandra Harris (Shay) was born December 31, 1981 to Sherman and Rosalyn Harris.  Sherolyn accepted Christ at the early age of six, even then she understood who she was and whose she was.  Sherolyn served in the church as an usher and later joined the choir at Mt. Olivet M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Hudson Augustus.

Sherolyn served in the choir and was a faithful member under the leadership of Rev. Lee E. Morris, Jr.  Here at Greater Mt. Olivet M.B. Church until her health failed.

Sherolyn attended Greenville Public Schools and was a proud member of the Greenville High School class of 2000.

In 2001 she was blessed with her oldest son, Sher'Michael and in 2005 her youngest son Sher'Mon was born.  Sherolyn met this challenge with strength and courage, being a mother was the joy of her life.  Sherolyn's last words to me was "Who's going to be here with my baby?"  Sherolyn loved her sons, family and friends beyond measure.

Sherolyn never met a stranger in her life, once she got to know you, you became Son, Daughter, Sister, Brother, Cousin and sometimes Mom and Dad.

Sherolyn was preceded in death by her fraternal grandparents, Pallace and Mildred Harris, her maternal grandparents, Louis and Lorene Mason, her godparents Sam and Ruthie Watson, her beloved Aunt Tonya(Terry) Wade.  Martha Jones, uncles, Alonzo Davis, Pallace Harris,Jr., and Ira Mason and her cousin Letarous Harris.

She leaves to mourn, her minor sons, Sher'Michael and Sher'Mon Young, parents, Sherman and Rosalyn Harris, sisters, Lauren and Jarice Harris, niece, Amarian Martin, godchildren, Darius Wilson, Zhaire Green, Joquez Sanders and Jaila Augustus, godsisters, Kimberly Brown, Denitta Singleton, Ahmara Taylor, Melinda Dickens, Tracey Corbin, Tarnisha Sanders, Diandrea Doss and a host of devoted uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and church family.
