Sherlan Lamar Ferguson, Sr. departed this earthly life on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Delta Health Northwest Regional Hospital in Clarksdale, MS.

Sherlan was born May 27, 1942 in Jasper, TX to the late Annie Marie Ferguson.

Sherlan wasn't a man of many words but was known for his quick responses and sarcastic sayings whenever asked a question.  Sherlan spent his days snacking, listening to music and playing dominoes with his sister.

Sherlan is preceeded in death by his mother Annie Marie Ferguson Coleman, stepfather, Hollis Coleman, two sons Sherlan Jr. and Warren Ferguson and a brother in law Julius "Cephus" Smith.  He is survived by one son;  Kenneth Ferguson and three daughters;  Elise (Travis) Grisby, Lattrice Ferguson and Johnnie Rodgers all of Texas, one sister, Mattie Smith of Ruleville, MS, two brothers; Rayford (Verma) Coleman of Lufkin, TX and Arthur Coleman of Nacogdoches, TX along with two aunts Polly Fergusoon Davis and Wilma Ferguson Shepard, nine grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
