Sammie Lee Gill was born February 4, 1961 to Jessie Mae Gill and Steve Gill in Mound Bayou, MS. He was the eleventh of 13 children.
Sam attended East Side High School. After high school he later pursued his career as a master carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Steve Gill, mother, Jessie Mae Gill; one brothers, Gregory Gill; two sisters, Lee Vearn Gill and Vernett Troutman.
Sammie leaves to cherish his memories that will forever be carried through his five daughters; Wyskia (Anthony) Lewis of Stone Mountain, GA, Latahasha Tate of Lima, OH, Aimee Miller of Cleveland, MS, Hope Gill and Joy Gill both of Starkville, MS; two sons, Jeremy Tanner of Cleveland, MS and Sammie Lee Gill, Jr. of Starkville, MS; seven brother; James(Priscilla) Gill of Daytona, FL; Warren (Vanessa) Gill, Nathaniel (Vickie) Gill, Larry Gill, Darrayl Gill all of Rochester, NY, Lonie (Stacey) Gill of Columbia, MS and Charles (Sharon) Gill of Cleveland, MS; two sisters, Fannie (Henry) Taylor of Memphis, TN and Sandra Smith of Sumter, South Carolina; thirteen grandchildren, one great grandson, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, extended family and a very special friend, Angela Dotson.
