Mr. Ronald Irvin Bailey, Sr. was born on December 7, 1953 to the late Albert Bailey, Jr. and Catherine Williams. As a youth he attended Zion Baptist where Ronnie confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was fortunate enough to have a personal experience with God. High spirited, Ron said, "Lord make me a bird so I can fly." Thus, he leapt from a towering chinaberry tree. The adolescent Bailey hit the ground rocklike, thinking about what a bad little boy he must be. While he lay there, he was sure he heard the Lord's voice speaking, how much more He loved him than the birds. The spirit implored, "Follow God and He will always take care of you and never allow you to experience hell." Therefore, his quest for pursuing the Lord began.
Ron was educated in Greenville Public Schools and later attended Job Corps, where he transitioned into the United States Army. Ronnie was married to Pamela Diane Bailey for thirty-five years. This union was blessed with seven children.
Ron entered into rest on May 12, 2016.
