Roberta Walton Reed was born December 26, 1930 in Gallman, MS to the late Amos and Nora Walton. She taught at the Headstart Center in Rosedale, MS for a number of years,and later taught 1st grade at West Bolivar Elementary, where she retired after 25 years. She accepted Christ at an early age, and was a devoted member of New Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of W.B. Bridgett in Pace, MS. She later joined Mt. Hebron Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Andrew Williams, and served on the Mother Board, where she remained until her health began to fail her. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Joseph Reed, Sr. and to this union, three children were born. She departed this life on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, MS.
