Obituary

1944 A Time to Be Born...

On July 31, 1944 to Ms. Erie Kellum in Washington County, MS, a son Robert Douglas Kellum was born into the world.  A true blessing from God, later became prevalent and he was raised by his aunt and uncle, Mrs. Bertha and Mr. Luster Williams of Estill, MS.

The Dash....A Time to Plant; A Time to Build; A Time to Gather Stones Together; A Time to Embrace; A Time to Laugh; And a Time to Love....

Robert accepted Christ as his personal Savior at St. Luke M.B. Church at an early age and firmly believed in treating his fellow man with spiritual dignity and respect as was, an integral part of his upbringing.  He received his formal education in the Hollandale and Estill School System and later furthered his education at Mississippi Delta Community College, Moorhead, MS.

His work history was inclusive of Estill Ginn, Hollandale Seed and Delinting, Thompson & Haywood Chemical Company, Delta Western Chemical Company and various other jobs.  In 2006, he retired from Platte Chemical Company.  Robert whose coined name was "Crow" was truly a devout family man.  He was wed to the love of his life, Mary Ellen Whitt for 51 years, 9 months, and 4 days.

2017: A Time to Pluck Up That Which is Planted And A Time to Die....

Having become ill in August. he never gave up and faced his illness with faith and courage.  He maintained a brave and cheerful outlook of an optimistic future.  He continued to be devout husband, father (diligently aiding in the care of his daughter), and grandfather.  He loved his family dearly and they were the joy of his life unconditionally.

In the pre-dawn hours of December 23, 2017, Robert (Crow) made his transition from earth to the other side.
