Obituary

Perry Lee Gibson, Sr. affectionately known as both "Big River" and "Sho-Nuff" was born on September 27, 1966 to Doris Gibson and the late Eddie Gibson, Sr. at Scott Hospital in Scott, MS.  He confessed his hope in Christ at an early age.

Perry received his high school diploma from Nugent Center High School in 1984.  He went on to continue his education at Mississippi Delta Community College to obtain his certificate in CDL driving training.

After obtaining his CDL driving certificate, Perry started his career at Shipper's Express.  While working at Shipper's Express, Perry established many businesses:  A trucking company - Big River Transportation, Rainbow Sno, Metcalfe Laundry, Wangs & Thangs and Perry's Original Sho-Nuff Hot Tamales.

Perry was a hard-working, loving and caring father, grandfather, brother and son.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working and cooking for his family.

Perry departed his earthly life on April 6, 2023 at Methodist University Hospital.

Perry was proceeded in death by his father, Eddie Gibson, Sr.  He leaves to cherish his loving memories (5) children:  Pierre Miller of Memphis, TN, Alexis (Rodney) Esters of Greenville, MS, Kiara (Brian) Payne of Greenville, MS, Perrionna (Fredrick) Gibson-Birkley of Greenville, MS, and Perry Lee Gibson, Jr. of Greenville, MS, (1) bonus son, Perry Vicks of  Greenville, MS, his mother Doris Gibson of Lamont, MS, (5) sisters:  Arnetta Pryor of Chicago, IL, Patricia Howard of Jackson, MS, Camelia Gibson of Lamont, MS., Takoda (Danelle) Gilliam of Forney, TX, and Shakoda Robinson of Leesburg, VA, (4) brothers, Edward Gibson of Chicago, IL, Eddie Gibson and Terrell Gibson of Greenville, MS, and Robert Gibson of Lamont, MS, (7) grandchildren:  Kennedi Esters, Ayden Payne ( 3 Adam-12), Naomi Marie, Kerrigan, Raelynn, and Ari Faith Esters, and Noah Birkley; a very, very special friend, Darlene Lawrence of Metcalfe, MS, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends.
