Otis C.
"Tez" Hollingsworth
Apr 18, 1978 — Feb 25, 2024
Gulfport
Otis Cortez Hollingsworth, known to family and friends as "Tez", was born April 18, 1978, in Cleveland, MS to the late Marilyn "Sue" Hollingsworth-Johnson and the late Otis "Chubby" Jones. He confessed his belief in Christ at an early age at United Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. Sammie Rash. Otis received his early education in the Cleveland School District, and later attended Eastside High School.
Otis worked for Taco Bell Corporation for over 23 years and was General Store Manager for 15 years. He also worked at Walmart and Amazon. Things he enjoyed doing were watching sports and spending time with family and friends. Nothing could compare to the love he had for his children, siblings, nieces and nephews. It was nothing they asked for that he didn't try his best to provide. Otis had a caring and loving heart and would help anyone in need.
Otis was married to Latarsha Harper-Hollingsworth for 15 years, and one son was born to this union. Through sickness and in health, good and bad times, their love remained. Otis was preceded in death by his mother, Sue; father, Chubby; and maternal grandparents, Theodore and Rosie Hollingsworth; Paternal Grandmother, Annie Mae Jones; sister, Carla Cotton and brother, Carl Hollingsworth.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Latarsha Harper-Hollingsworth of Gulfport, MS; sons, Demarkez Jay Flowers (Leland, MS), Deric Gillum (Gulfport, MS). Jamarius "Mann" Hollingsworth (Murfreesboro, TN) and Dadrien Harper (Gulfport, MS); one daughter, Shanya Hollingsworth (Indianapolis, IN); brothers, Ronnie Hollingsworth (Fort Worth, TX), Ced Lacey (Calhoun, GA) and Timothy Lynch (Cleveland, MS); sisters, Kimberley Jones (Cleveland, MS), Shequita Jones (Atlanta, GA), Toweka (Alex) Williams (Marrietta, GA), Willie Cotton (Murfreesboro, TN); sister-in-law, Iris Hollingsworth (LaVegne, TN), and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
