Obituary

Otis Melvin Murray was born on August 8, 1937 to John and Thelma Murray.  Otis accepted Jesus Christ at an early age.  He later joined Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Lloyd Johnson.  He was united in holy matrimony to Annie Burns Murray in 1972.  He was employed as a farmer at Aylward Farms for many years until his retirement.

Otis is preceded in death by his parents, John and Thelma Murray; two sisters, Mildred Marie Shelly and Patricia Ellis Murray Mobey; and one daughter, Thelma Watts.

Otis was called to his eternal rest on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at the Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, Mississippi.  He leaves to cherish his precious memories; his devoted wife, Annie Burns Murray of Pace, MS; three sons, Otis (Linda) Marshall of Pace, MS, Marvin (Amanda) Burns of Bartlett, TN, and Tony (Jacqueline) Burns of Vancouver, WA; five daughters, Melissa Marshall of Pace, MS, Marilyn (Rodney) Brown of Hattiesburg, MS, Bonita (Clarence) Epps of Pace, MS, Gorgetta Williams and Cheryl Williams both of Coco, FL; sisters, Patricia Ann Price of Winstonville, MS; brother, Albert Price of Illinois; sister-in-law, Ida Mae Price of Rosedale; eleven grandchildren, Kwaski Burns, Amber Epps, MarQuitta Burns, Jawaski Epps, Dominique Simpson, Shaikerria Smith, Marvin Burns, Jr., Otis Marshall, Jr., Kierra Bradley, Tanisha Bradley and Kadijah Burns; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
