Mozella was born June 4, 1931 in Foote Mississippi to the parents of Willie Reed and Willie Ann Davis Reed. Mozella was one of ten children of a blended family. All of the children were raised in the church, and she confessed to Christ at an early age.

Mozella married James Parish on March 18,1950 at the age of nineteen and was married for 41 years, until his death. She was affectionately called "Aunt Lil Sis" or "Lil Sis". Mozella enjoyed going to church, spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and traveling to visit family. Mozella had a long career in housekeeping at the Downtowner Hotel until they closed, after which, she was employed by the Hampton Inn until retiring in her seventies.

She took great delight in cooking, reading, and watching her soap operas. Mozella was someone you could rely on, time and time again. She was
consistent and committed. Those are just a few of her endearing qualities.

Mozella Parish, at the age of 90, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, February 27th at her home, surrounded by family. Mozella was preceded in death by her husband James Parish, brothers Sammy Reed, Walter Reed, George Reed, Johnnie Reed, sisters, Katie Mae White, Susie Bell Vickers, and Martha Love, her son Tommy Parish and granddaughter Shajuana Bell.

Mozella is survived by her sister; Rosie Lee Quinnie of Chicago, IL. Her children; James Parish of Greenville, Beatrice Thomas (Berry Thomas) of Hollandale, Wilbert Parish of Greenville, Marion Parish (Deloise Parish) of Hollandale, Brenda Parish (Stephen Reynolds) of Hayward, CA, Barbara Williams of Greenville, Kenneth Parish (Deloris Parish) of Greenville, Dennis Parish of Oakland, CA, Angela Cook (Michael Cook) of Marina, CA, Karen Parish (Bradley Harger) of Maui, HI, Christie White (Billy White Jr.) of Southaven, Sharon Parish of Greenville, and Daphne Kelley (Michael Kelley) of Richmond, CA; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great greatgrandchildren and friends.
