Moses Issac Lewis, Jr. was born in Winstonville, MS on July 21, 1946 to the union of the late Moses Lewis, Sr. and Evelyn Norman-Lewis.  Moses' spiritual birth began when he was baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ at the Apostolic Church of God in Chicago, Illinois under the leadership of Elder Nauman Haymon.

Moses received his early education in the private schools of Mound Bayou.  He attended and received his high school diploma from Mound Bayou High School in 1963 and matriculated at Tougaloo College receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science in the spring of 1967.  While at Tougaloo, Moses became a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.

He began teaching the fall of 1967 in Bolivar County School District Six in Mound Bayou.  Immediately after teaching, Moses was interviewed and hired with the federal government as a federal drug investigator.  Moses loved debating, sports, art and writing.  He was instrumental in assisting friends and family with furthering their education.

Moses departed his life at his home on Tuesday evening, June 12, 2018.
