Obituary

Mrs. Minnie Lee Thompson Myers was born on March 5th, 1931 to the late Surilla and Benson Thompson in Louise, Ms. She was the 4th out of 6 children. As a child she accepted Jesus Christ in her life. Minnie grew up and attended school in Louise and Panther Burn, MS. She later moved to Greenville, MS.

Minnie was joined in marriage with John Henry Myers.  Together they raised 8 children.  Minnie was surrounded by the love of her children, Joyce Greer, Douglass Greer, Patricia (Calvin) Smith, Brenda Wells, Barbara Myers, Betty Willis, John (NaTasha) Myers; Grandchildren Randall Thompson, Angela (Gregory) Abraham, Shalanda Franklin, Khalilah Jones, Stacey (Ramona) Greer, LaToria Myers, Monica Wells, Nyiesha Greer, Lamar Greer, Jocelyn (Travary) Hart, Jamelidee Myers, Tia Greer, Arielle Edwards, Brandon Wells, Keiara Wells, James Bradley, Jr., Rhianon Greer, A'mya Willis, and Tyler McGee.  In addition, Minnie was loved by her great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Minnie spent her life as a wife and homemaker.  Not only did she raise her children, but she helped raised some of her grandchildren.  Minnie loved to be on the go.  She enjoyed getting dolled up, cooking, taking family trips and traveling up North to visit her brother, sisters and kids.  Minnie loved shopping and one of her favorite stores was the Corner Closet.  She would probably go everyday if she could.  She enjoyed being in the presence of family.  Seeing and talking to her family brought her so much joy.  Minnie will be remembered as being one of the sweetest persons alive.  She made sure that everyone had what they needed.

Minnie was preceded in death by her husband John Myers, a daughter, Vivian Anthony, a brother Leniel Thompson, her sisters, Clemmie McDowell, Maudie Thompson, Jimmie Thompson, and Ruthie Johnson.  She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
