Michael Salone, a brilliant soul, left this world far too soon on November 6, 2024.  Born in Cleveland, Mississippi on June 8, 1954, Michael was a beacon of light, illuminating the lives of those around him.  He often fondly reminisced about his childhood in Pace with his grandmother.  He attended school there until the age of 9, then moved to Greenville, Mississippi with his mother.  He later graduated from Greenville High School, class of 1972.

Michael professed a faith in Christ at an early age.  He later strengthened his relationship with God and pursued knowledge with an unwavering passion, being well-versed in the Word.

Michael worked many jobs throughout his lifetime including, the State of Mississippi as a Long Shoreman and Utility Products as a Lineman.  He was most notably good with his hands and enjoyed carpentry, painting and constructing outdoor furniture.  His thirst for learning extended beyond textbooks, as he struck out on many "adventures," often spending time in Medina, New York and Indianapolis, Indiana.  He left no stone unturned.

Michael united in holy matrimony to Loretta Elizabeth Moton Saloane.  Together they remained for 50 years.

Michael had dreams of making his mark on the world.  He recently created his first not for profit entity, YEHEZKE, where he aspired to create opportunities and resources for community youth who sought a better way and a better life.  His potential was boundless and he had a vivid imagination.  His thoughts always moved at a rapid speed.  Rather you could keep up or not, he punctuated EVERY statement with "Hear Me?" or " Yall Don't Hear Me?"

Michael Salone, affectionately known as "Big Daddy", departed this earthly place and ascended to heavenly reward where he was greeted by his mother, Barbara Jean Howard; sister, Angela Marie Howard; parents-in-law, Wiley Eugene Moton Jr. and Ontario Sutton Moton; grandmother, Mary Alice Saloane; brother uncles, Johnny "Moot" Saloane and Billy Hewlett.

Left to cherish precious memories is his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Loretta E. Saloane; children, Makeba Parish-Murduck, James Christopher Parish, LaKisha Saloane, Michael Zachary Saloane, Demetriss Saloane, Timothy Saloane, Arika Saloane, Deshuandria Jones; sisters, Carolyn Washington and Linda (Dana) Bledsoe; brother, Flemon (Renita) Howard; 20 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and friends.
