Melva Jean White was born on January 14, 1948 in Ruleville, MS to the late James Waldington and Effie Lee Waldington.
Melva graduated from Ruleville Central High School in 1968. She worked for Sunflower Humphrey County Progress for manyars.
Melva met the love her life, Jimmy Lee White in 1966. On February 5, 1970, Jimmy and Melva united in marriage. She professed hope in Christ at an early age at Mt. Galilee Baptist Church in Ruleville, MS.
She departed this life on December 18, 2020 at North Sunflower Medical Center in Ruleville, MS. She is preceded in death by the love of her life Jimmy Lee White, her father, James Waldington; mother, Effie Lee Waldington and Edna Waldington, four brothers, William Earl Field, Walter "Head" Waldington, Kames "Doris" Waldington and Larry "Toab" Waldington.
She leaves to forever cherish her loving memories, two sons: Tony Waldington of Ruleville, MS and Daniel (Maude) White of Ruleville, MS; two daughters: Gloria White and Brianna (Jonathan) Caldwell both of Ruleville, MS; six sisters: Dorothy Kent, Gail Delores Williams both of Ruleville, MS; Willie (Timothy) Bradley of Sumter, SC; Katherine (Jerry) Barber of Drew, MS and Velma Williams of Greenville, MS; five brothers: Jerome Turner and Jerry Walls both of Ruleville, MS; James (Mary) Waldington of Cleveland, MS; Ronald (Carolyn) Johnson of Ruleville, MS; Timothy McCain of Jackson, MS; Lonnie 9Hazel) Sellers of Freeport, IL and a host of grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
