McKinley Turner, Jr. was born on December 3, 1949, in Malvina, Mississippi to the late McKinley Turner, Sr. and Martha Ella Turner.

McKinley Turner, Jr. was preceded in death by his sisters: Ronetta, Pearlie and Johnnie Mae.

McKinley, also known as Junior, Mac, JR., confessed hope in Christ at an early age and attended the Living Church of God in Memphis, Tennessee where he remained a faithful member.

In 1974, McKinley recorded a single titled, "Free Man". Written and sung by him at Promo Records in Nashville, Tennessee.

McKinley was an avid lover of animals where he generated a house full of cats and dogs.

McKinley was a Glass Operator at Wholesale Glass Distributors, Inc. in Memphis, Tennessee from August 23, 1983, until his health failed him on November 30, 2021.

McKinley departed this life on December 25, 2021, at St, Francis Hospital – Bartlett and leaves to cherish his memories, daughters: Evaly (Darsel), Yvonna, and Hester, sons; McKinley III and Cameron; brothers: Henry and Wilkie; a close nephew, Tyrone and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
