On Friday, August 16, 2024 at 2:30 am the death angel came into Bolivar Medical Center and sealed the lips of our beloved Mattie M. Watson.

Mattie M. Watson was born June 26, 1944.  She was the first child of John B. Norris and Essie M. Norris.  Her parents preceded her in death.

December 22, 1966, Mattie married Jack Holton (deceased), two sons were born of their union, Robert Holton (deceased) and Earnest (Patricia) Holton of Jackson, MS.  Mattie married Zachery Watson in October 27, 1990.  Mattie's daughter Mattie M. Bland and step-daughter, Charlene Bland preceded her in death.

She professed her belief in Christ at an early age at the Clark Street Church of Christ in Cleveland, MS.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving son, Earnest (Patricia) Holton, Jackson, MS; three sisters, Genell Campbell, Cleveland, MS, Linda Dudley, Walls, MS, Shirley A. Hooper, Cleveland, MS; two brothers, Odell (Gloria) Norris, Atlanta, GA, Billie (Tiffany) Norris, Cleveland, MS.  She leaves eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, John Norris, Jr., Willie Norris, Wendell Norris, Eddie Norris and Alfred Norris; two sisters, Dorothy Pegues and Johnnie M. Jenkins.
