Mary Louise Mickey Williams was born on August 14, 1956 to the late Robert and Rosetta Mickey in Clarksdale, MS; and was later reared in Sunflower County. Affectionately called "Lou" or "Louise" by many family members and friends, Mary was one of eight children. Highly intuitive and quick witted, Mary was educated in the Drew Public School District and was a graduate of Drew High School. She later furthered her educational studies at Utica Junior College and Mississippi Valley State University. She also obtained a Bachelor of Social Work Degree with emphasis in Social Services from Almeda University as well as an Associate of Science Degree in Accounting from the same institution. A Time to Love On January 1, 1980 at the New Jerusalem Church of God In Christ (Drew, MS), Mary was united in holy matrimony to her husband of 33 years, Lester Williams of Ruleville, MS where they also made thier home. To thier union were born 3 beautiful children(Lakeisha, Shantay, Dwayne and Dwuan) whom she truly loved, adored, and cherished deeply. A Time To Serve Mary possessed a mighty love and great zeal for Almighty God; and was very passionate about serving her family, church, and community. She was also well known for her countless charitable acts; wise counsel; integrity; discretion; business insight; and keen ability to engage persons fromall walks of life and backgrounds. A business owner ( Williams Solutions); non-profit organization developer ( Trinity Development); former U.S. Postal Service employee; former insurance agent; former Mississippi Department of Corrections employee, and more, Mary's most rewarding task was the faithfulful service she rendered to the Lord as a member of the New Jerusalem Church of God In Christ in Drew, MS. A licensed Evangelist Missionary and dynamic soul winner, Mary served her local church in the following capacities; Assistant Financial Secretary; Program Committee Chairperson; Assistanct Sunday School Teacher; Young Women's Christian Council (YWCC)/Christian Women's Council (CWC) Helper; Saanctuary Choir 2nd Assistanct Chaplain; Ways and Means COmmittee Member; Public Relations Committe President; Missionary Circle Vice-President; Soul Winning Across Town (S.W.A.T.) Team/Appollo Group Presidet; and Van Driver. A Time To Rest Mary transitioned from labor to reward on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Her lifetime of love; compassion; charity; fruitfulness; faithfulness; counsel; deeds; and vast achievements will always remain as a living legacy for all who were touched by her remarkable life.
