Mary Alice Humphries Sandifer, Also known as May Alice to her family and friends in Mississippi, was born in Gunnison, Mississippi to Beatrice Humphries Gadison on April 27, 1964.  She was raised in the small towns of Gunnison, Rosedale and Beulah, Mississippi.  She was very protective over her two brothers and her sister, who she help watch over growing up. During her time at Rosedale High School she dated a Fred Taylor.  They had a daughter, Urica Shunta Humphries on March 9, 1981.  She remained in high school and ran track.  She loved track; she was named the Most Valuable Athlete in her graduating class of 1982.  She decided after graduating high school, she would moved to Houston, Texas and raise her daughter.  She was very strong, courageous, and determined.  she attended South Plains College.  She has always desired to know and have a relationship with the Lord.  She joined New Deliverance Church and served as Secretary and Confidant to the Pastor.  This is where she grew to learn more about God and help build a Christian Foundation for our family.

She begin working for Shell Oil Company where she met Harold Mervin Brown. They married in 1991 and moved to Odessa, Texas.  She acquired four step sons, 4 stepdaughters, and a slew of grandchildren and great grandchildren.  While married, they were trusted to raise one of their grandsons, Khaled Rahjeem Brown at 2-3 month of age.  When they divorced, she continued to raise him as her own.  He loved her as a mother.

In 2014, she met Eric D. Sandifer.  They dated for a while and married soon after.  They lived in Denver City, Texas.  She acquired a stepson, a stepdaughter, and 3 grandchildren.  They served served in Ministry together and were ordained together.  He called her his, "Big Baby".  She was certified as an Evangelist by God's House of Love, Inc.  She was also ordained as a Pastor by Eagle Wings Fellowship.

During her 26 years living in Denver City, she worked at the Chamber of Commerce, City of Denver City and she owned Busy Body Daycare. In 2018, she was diagnosed with stage 4 Ovarian Cancer.  Her strength and tenacity during this time was highly admired.  She participated with the American Cancer Society Hands of Hope to help encourage others.  She sowed into Kairos Prison Ministry.  She was a part of a Women's Ministry, who met every Saturday to go to Big Spring; where they would minister to the incarcerated.  She was an amazing Woman of God.  She was a mediator, prayer, warrior and great friend.  She enjoyed cooking.  She had a big heart and she spread love wherever she she went.

She has touched so many lives.  She would always help those in need whether it was kids or adults, she was there to help.  Her legacy will remain because it is instilled in the lives that she touched.  Her radiant smile lit up the room and her raspy voice with nothing but words of wisdom; will be heard for years to come.  She loved her family and would do anything to see them smile.  She knew who she was and she stood for what she believed in.  she will be missed and continuously loved by all.  She left this earth on her own terms.

He life was no taken from her, she peacefully and gratefully gave it to God to have.  May you rest in Heaven beautiful Angel.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willie James Beans and Grandmother, Willie Mae Beans.

She is survived by her husband, Eric D. Sandifer; mother, Beatrice Humphries Gadison; daughter, Urica S. Humphries-Blackwell; stepdaughter, Shaniqua Jefferson; stepson, Lance Standifer; sister Laura Swayer; brothers, Jimmie Gadison and Mack Gadison; 6 grandchildren Selah Taylor Humphries, David Blackwell,Jr., Noah Blackwell, Zakai Blackwell, and Khaled Brown, Jacy Blackwell; 3 great grandchildren Khalil Brown, Khalin Brown, Jai Brown and Alainas Miller; nieces, jessica Huff, LaTonya Gadison, Tanesha Gadison, LaKreshia Gadison, Shameka Vincent, and Freshay Gadison; nephews, Jimmie Gadison,Jr., Freshawn Gadison, and Mactavious Gadison; host of stepchildren, other siblings, relatives, and relatives, and friends.
