Luebirtha Brown Jennings was born December 20, 1952 to the late Bessie Smith and Thomas J. Brown in Gunnison, Mississippi.

Luebirtha attended Bob Woods School.  Luebirtha confessed a hope in Christ at a very young age.  She was a member of Mercy Seat M.B. Church and she later moved her membership to St. James M.B. Church in Gunnison where she remained faithful member until her health began to fail.  Luebirtha was very outgoing and she loved family, singing, cleaning, cooking and she loved to dress.

Luebirtha was preceded in death by her parents Bessie Smith and Thomas J. Brown; her daughter, Sonya Monroe; her son, Roosevelt Brown; brothers, Freddy Brown, Anthony Shelby, David Tanner, Leonard Shelby; and a sister, Velma Brown Coleman.

Luebirtha cherish her memories her loving husband, Eliga Jennings of 32 years; her son Robert L (Ruby) Brown of Gunnison, Mississippi; two daughters, Barbara Brown and Lula Jennings of Gunnison, Mississippi; one brother, Thomas J (Joyce) Brown Jr. of Rosedale, Mississippi; two sisters, Eddie B. Evans of Rosedale, Mississippi and Min. JoAnne B. (Pastor Charles) Ross of Greenville, Mississippi; God-daughter, Marjani (Leonard) Williams of Courtland, MS; a special granddaughter, Quinsheda Henry, a special great-granddaughter, Ka'Niya Brown, and a special niece, LaShanda Evans; best friends, Roberta Vail, Isabella Ford and Baby Sister; 15 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
