Mr. Lonnie Sanders Jr. was born in Greenwood, MS (Leflore County) to his parents Lonnie and Johnnie Vera Sanders. The family relocated to Ruleville, MS before he was walking. Lonnie received his education in the Ruleville Public School System. He had a strong work ethic at an early age: Blackwood Egg Farm in Drew, MS. He died at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS on August 24, 2025.

Lonnie accepted Christ at an early age at the Church of Christ in Ruleville, MS. Lonnie married the former Susie Mae Ward of Ruleville, MS. He later returned to Drew and attended the Delmar Avenue Church of Christ in Ruleville, MS.

He is survived by his wife Susie Mae Ward, children: Lonnie Tyrone Sanders (Eixa), Consuelo Yvette Bell (Rodrick), Sean Michael Sanders; Grandchildren: Shakira Fiona Laguerre, Alfonzo Eugene Dorsainvil, Jr. He is survived by brothers: Melvin, Leon, Larry, Alonzo, Edward (Pamela), Derrick (deceased). Catherlean (Chris), Minnie Lee (deceased), Katherine, Valerie Jean (deceased), Mattie Lee (Hosea), Gloria Jean (Theodore), Rachel Lily Lu. He was succeeded in death by two children, Terry Beck and Rodney Beck. He is also survived by his nephews who he referred to as his "boys": Antonio McKnight, Tracey, Antwuan, Christopher, and Anthony Trent.
