The beloved and greatly loved Linda Faye entered this world on July 5, 1961 in Bolivar County to the late Mr. Jessie Winter and Mrs. Caldonia Matthews. She was one of the youngest twins of 10 children. At a young age, she confessed her hope and faith in Christ and became a member of Apostolic Faith Church.
She attended school in the Cleveland school district in Cleveland, MS. She was employed by several different businesses in Bolivar County which included Bolivar County Headstart, Tyson Chicken, Duo Fast and The Nursing Home.
On March 15, 2007 she married James E. Davis and was a devoted wife that loved her husband. Linda Faye was an inspiration and joy to all. She never met a stranger, and for everyone she met she touched their lives in a special way. Her contagious smile and straight forward manner will be dearly missed.
On January 27, 2025 @ 10:51 pm, the angels of heaven visited her at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. Linda was prepared at that appointed time to be with her Lord and Savior. She took that joyous flight to be with him forevermore. She is now singing in that heavenly angelica choir.
Linda Faye was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Winter and Caldonia Matthews; two brothers, Joe Thomas and Albert Matthews; Two sisters, Brenda Matthews and Ruthie Barnes.
Her memories will be cherished by her husband, James E. Davis of Cleveland, MS; (4) four daughters, Tonya Matthews-Thompson, Amanda Matthews, and Adrian Matthews, all of Cleveland, MS; Carolyn Matthews of Nashville, TN: (2) two brothers, Michael (Deborah) Matthews of Cleveland, MS: Jessie Thomas of Chicago, IL, (4) four brother-in-laws; (4) four sister-in-laws, (23) twenty-three grandchildren, (3) great-grandchildren. She leaves to cherish many faithful nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of relatives and friends.
