Levi Mayes, affectionately known as "Rock" was born September 30, 1953 in Shaw, Mississippi to Jake Mayes, sr. and Louise Mayes. He was the sixth of nine children. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James Fields and Jake Mayes Jr., sister Maggie Braswell. Rock departed this earth during the early morning of June 15, 2015. Rock surrendered his heart to the Lord Jesus Christ as a young boy at Mount Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. H.A. Armstrong. He received his education from McEvans Elementary School. He was employed at the Jubilee and Light House Casino in Greenville, MS until he retired two years ago. He enjoyed fishing, basketball, football and listening to music. Rock loved to talk about his nieces and nephews.
