Leo Files Jr. was born on January 9, 1949 to Annie Davis and Leo Files Sr.  He departed this life on September 29, 2023 at Merit Health River Region in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

He was baptized at an early age at Christian Light Missionary Baptist Church in Anguilla, Mississippi under the leadership of the late Rev.  V.T. Taylor.

He went to Job Corp at an early age.  After his term in the service, he married Essie Flood and to this union four children were born.  Leo has lived in Anguilla, Mississippi all his life.  He worked for Paul Hargrave Farms for almost forty years, then he worked for Sandy Bayou Farms for close to twenty years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo Files Sr. and Annie Davis Files, sister, Estella Files and other relatives and love ones.

He leaves to cherish his memory a very special loving and devoted companion Cheryl Dunson; wife, Essie Flood Files of San Francisco, CA; (3) daughters, Youlanda (Dexter) Crosby of San Francisco, CA; Latrice Dunson of Anguilla, MS; Akalal Files of San Francisco, CA; (4) sons, Leo (Belinda) Files III of St. Paul, Minnesota; Patrick (Karen) Files of San Francisco, CA; Otis Buchanan of Saginaw, Michigan; Anderson Dunson of Greenville, MS; a loving God daughter, Akia Davis of Cary, MS; a God given son and grandson; Amari Dunson of Cary, Mississippi; (1) aunt, Mrs. Lura Mouldin of Anguilla, MS; faithful and loyal friends, Williams Dunson, Randy Johnson, Willie (Red) Scott, Gregory Bell, Mitchell Bush and a host of cousins and relatives.
