Lenard G.
"Nuke" Gibbs
Mar 26, 1962 — Apr 5, 2024
Baton Rouge
Lenard G. "Nuke" Gibbs, beloved husband, father, and brother departed this life April 5, 2024 at the age of 62.
Len was a graduate of Greenville High School where he played baseball. He also attended Alcorn State University while continuing to play the game he loved. Many stories of his ability will continue to live on. Those stories also include fishing. He loved to fish and was very good at it. He would fish anytime he got the chance.
As a young adult, he made the decision to serve his country as a United States Marine. An accomplishment he was very proud of. Anyone who met him knew he was a Marine because he always told them so.
After many life travels, Len landed in Baton Rouge, LA where he met his wife, Jean, and remained there until he heard Our Master call his name.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Will Arthur and Berkeley Gibbs and the loving grandparents that raised him, Titus Sr and Jimmie Hughes.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 10 years, Jean Green Gibbs, 2 daughters; Dionna Esparza of Las Vegas, NV and Talsha Green Jones of Baton, Rouge, LA, 1 son, James Green of Baton Rouge, LA and 1 brother whom he loved dearly, Kendall (Angela) Gibbs of Edmond, OK.
Len is truly missed and will forever be in our hearts. He is resting well because he never wavered in his faith and trust in God. We know he had his "business" straight with the Lord.
