LaPlose Cortez DarMonte "Corky" Thompson was born on August 16, 1994 to Larissa Thompson and Terry Drummer.

He attended Nailor Elementary School, Margaret Green Jr. High School, Cleveland High School in Cleveland, Mississippi and Washington High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He later obtained his high school diploma from Right Track.

At a young age, LaPlose professed his faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Lynn, Mississippi under the leadership of Rev. John Ivory Taylor.

LaPlose was a loving son, father, cousin, grandson, nephew, classmate, and friend to many.  So many were touched by his acts of kindness and undying love.
