La Kelvin Antoine "Kevo" Simpson was born on October 13, 1980, to Jessie Scott Sumpter and the late Sylvester Clark, Jr., in Cleveland, MS. He was the youngest child. Kelvin confessed his hope in Christ and accepted him at an early age as his Lord and Savior. Kelvin was educated in the Shaw School District and graduated from Shaw High School Class of 1999. He was known by many throughout the years for his passion of antique cars and auto mechanics. Kelvin was passionate about helping others who were in need. He truly had a heart of gold. La Kelvin gained his wings and made his heavenly transition at his home and was called to his eternal rest on January 30, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father Sylvester Clark, Jr., his brother, Jose King and Barbara Williams.
"Kevo" leaves to cherish his memories that will forever be carried through; his beautiful mother Jessie Sumpter of Shaw, MS. Four daughters: Kieanna Simpson, Se'Anna Sanders, Na'Tyler Jeremiah, and Jura Miller, all of Cleveland, MS. Two brothers; Takeo Clark of Jackson, MS, and Joslin (Reica) Clark of Little Rock, AR. Three sisters: Taffany (William) Wilson of Cordova, TN; Sherra Vinson of Racine, WI and Shinda Simpson of Memphis, TN. Three stepsisters: Melissa Cobbins of Moorhead, MS; LaTasha Thompson of Sunflower, MS; and Shawanda Sumpter of Itta Bena, MS. Two Stepbrothers: Carl Sumpter, Jr. of Walls, MS and Tyrone Sumpter of Waco, TX. Patricia Montgomery of Shaw, MS; whom Kelvin considered as his second mother. Four special aunts; Linda Perry and Mary (Joseph) McConnell, both of Shaw, MS; Gwendolyn Allen of Renova, MS and Jacequeline Powell of Milwaukee, WI. A special cousin Dedrick Scott of Cleveland, MS and three special friends Desi Ward of Shaw,MS; Christopher Terrell and Perry McAbee both of Cleveland, MS; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family.
