Katie Mae Johnson was born to the late Robert and Corina Powell in Shelby, Mississippi. She confessed her life in Christ at an early age.

Katie Mae Johnson for years was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. E.L. Young.

Katie Mae Johnson was a loving, Kind, outgoing and outspoken homemaker. Katie Mae loved life and loved her children more. Katie Mae always had a kind word for those that would listen.

Katie Mae Johnson was preceded in death by her loving husband Archie Johnson; sister; Rosie Lee Powell and J. W. Powell, Robert Lee Powell and Buddy Powell.

The united in holy matrimony of Katie Mae and Archie Johnson four children was born.

Katie leaves to cherish her memory: two (2) daughters; Cassandra Johnson of Alabama and Vedale Johnson of Clarksdale, MS; two (2) sons: Billy Joe Johnson of South Bend, Indiana, Shelton Johnson of Shelby, MS; five (5) grandchildren: Cadarius Johnson, Deandre Johnson, Patrick Kelly, Bill Darius Kelly and Montavious Kelly, two (2) sisters: Mary Powell of Shelby, MS; and Julia Powell of Cleveland, MS; three (3) brothers: Roosevelt Powell of Cleveland, MS; Cloudy (Ladi) Powell of Clarksdale, MS; Hosie (Ruth) Powell of Zell Wood, FL and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
