"A Love Full of Life"
Mrs. Katie Belle Blanks was the first child born to Charlie "Hope" Williams and Idella Swanagain on April 14, 1943. "Bee" (her childhood nickname) attended schools in Cleveland, Mississippi and later graduated from Coahoma Junior College (presently Coahoma Community College) in Clarksdale, Mississippi with a certificate in Early Childhood Development. "Ms. Katie Belle" (her neighborhood name) spent most of her life taking care of others. Early in her life she worked as a home health aide and care giver for the elderly. Later, "Mrs. Blanks" (her professional name) worked as a Teacher's aide and retired from Bolivar County Headstart Program. She also worked nights at Baxter Laboratories for a short time. "Sister Katie" served her community in the traditions of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her main joy came from taking care of her family. "Katie Belle" (that's what Chuck called her) was married to the love of her life, Reverend Charles E. "Chuck" Blanks for fifty-four years. "Mama" (that's what we called her) also loved children; everbody's children. After raising her own babies, she opened the doors of her home and heart to cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the years. "Mother Katie" (her life's anointing) also loved Jesus and the church. She joined United Baptist Missionary Church as a child and served as long as she could. During her more than six decades of church service, Mother Katie served as a church cook, usher and later as a church mother and President of the Mother Board.
SERVANT is what God called her on February 5, 2021 when He told her WELL DONE!
"Servant Katie" is now in Heaven with her parents, her husband and two of her babies, LaTredita and Bridgit.
Those still cherishing Mother Katie's memories include her two sons, Reginald Williams and Alando Blanks (Tangela); her two daughters Juretta Blanks and Ashley Blanks; her brother, Sylvester Butcher (Cynthia); Thirteen grandchildren; Seven great-grandchildren; and a bunch of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
