The beloved and greatly loved Julie Ann Davis Martin entered this world on July 16, 1967 in Sunflower County to the late Mr. Willie Davis and Mrs. Climmie Davis.
At a you age, she confessed her hope in Christ and became a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland, MS.
She never met a stranger. Everyone that she met, she touched their lives in a special way. Julie traveled and resided in many cities and states across the country. After moving to Horn Lake, MS, she became The Candy Lady of her community. She housed and fostered many children thereafter. Julie did not see race, creed, or color. Her contagious smile and straight forward manner will be dearly missed.
Julie was a member of the East Side High School class of 1985. She attended Coahoma Community College. She was employed by numerous firms/businesses such as nursing homes, hospital, Casinos, Fed-X, Direct TV and other.
Julie Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Climmie Davis; one brother, Barry Davis and one sister, Tommie Jean Davis.
On October 20, 2023, a sweet chariot from above descended to take Julie Ann Davis Martin home. Julie was an inspiration and joy to all.
Her memories will be cherished by; her husband, Calvin Martin of Southaven, MS; one daughter, Yasma Andrea Martin of Southaven, MS; four brothers, Willie (Donzella) Davis and Jim (Barbara) Davis of San Diego, CA, James (Linda) Davis, of San Diego, CA, Terry (Karen) Davis of Shelby, MS; five sisters, Floyce Davis of San Diego, CA, Willie Ola (Anthony) Calvert of Jacksonville, NC, Diane Jones of Chicago, IL, Annie (Tommie) Smith of Cleveland, MS and Sylvia (Vernell) Davis of Cleveland, MS; two uncles, Gene Hawkins and Ulcy Hawkins both of St. Louis, MS; father-in-law, Henry Martin of Holly Springs, MS; four god-children she took in, Brittny Towle of Memphis, TN, Alyssa Askew of Montgomery, TX, Joshua Ratliff of Memphis, TN and Maritza Peters of Jacksonville, NC; four god-grandchildren, Jayceon Towle of Memphis, TN, Laylay Askew of Montgomery, TX, Harmony Conner of Jacksonville, NC and Zariya Ratliff of Memphis, TN; and a host of god-children, nieces, nephews and cousins.
