On October 2, 1944, Julia Mae Davis was born to Warren Davis and Mattie Davis of Shaw, MS.  She peacefully departed this life Sunday, June 9, 2019 in Cleveland, MS at Bolivar Medical Center.

Early in her life, Julia accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at Mount Tabor Baptist Church in Shaw, MS under the leadership of Rev. A. H. Howard.

In 1963, she received her education from Old McEvans School.  Before graduating, she married her childhood sweetheart Leslie Sutton, Jr. and together they brought forth her greatest joy, her daughter, Palvin Cofelia Sutton.  She became a wife, homemaker and proud mother all while completing her education.

Later on, she met her soulmate Frank Freeman and on July 25,1969 they were united in holy matrimony.  They nurtured a marriage full of love and friendship for 40 years until his passing.  She was truly a loving and compassionate woman.  Those that knew her well, knew of how she affectionately placed the needs of her family, friends, and others before her own.

Julia was preceded in death by her father, Warren Davis, Sr., mother, Mattie Davis; husband, Frank Freeman; brother, Otis Davis; and sisters, Mary Rushing and Mildred Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memory of her loving and dedicated daughter, Palvin Sutton of Shaw, MS; brother, Warren Davis, Jr. (Ruth) of Shaw, MS.
