Judith K. Nichols-Winford was born May 1, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan. She departed this life on Sunday, December 22, 2013 surrounded by family and friends. Judith's name spoke her life: Jesus became a part of her life in April 1987 at Delmar Avenue Church of Christ under the instruction of Bro. Stanley Robinson and leadership of Bro. Billy C. Moore. She remained a faithful member there until her death. United in marriage to James Winford on October 28, 1989 in Louisville, Mississippi. They were married for 14 years. James preceded her in death on December 17, 2003/ Devoted mother of one son, Elliott, an honor student and devoted member of the Church of Christ. Devoted employee of Mississippi Department of Corrections from 1987-1989 as an Accounting Clerk. Intelligent product of Louisville High School (class of 1978), Tougaloo College, University of Tennessee - Memphis(December 1993), with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Regis University - Denver, Colorado (May 2008) with a Master of Science in Nursing. Judith was a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (June 2013) and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality. She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and a member of Alpha Kappa Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Teacher for Coahoma Community College and Nurse for Asthma Resource Project ( Delta State University), Mound Bayou Public School District ( March 2005- February 2009), and LeBonheur Child's Medical Center (December 1993-May 1994). Judity also served as a Health Service Administrator, Director of Quality & Risk Management, Risk Manager, and Nurse Epidemiologist in hospitals in Cleveland, Vicksburg, and Memphis. Heroine in the Navy from July 1982-July 1986, earning the rank of Second Lieutenant.
