Josephine "Tee" Brown entered this world on July 9, 1929, as a beloved youngest child of Tom and Josephine Washington.  Josephine's faith was strong---she accepted Christ early in life, and became a dedicated member of First Baptist Church in 1950.  She loved her church family deeply and remained active, serving as part of the mission ministry, singing in the choir, and faithfully attending Sunday School and Bible Study until her health began to decline.

Josephine was united in holy matrimony to Henry Brown, who preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Solomon Washington, Sr.; three sisters, Ida Mae Washington, Valerie Washington and Jacqueline Sledge; and one nephew, Solomon Washington, Jr., whom she lovingly raised as her own.

Josephine devoted more than 30 years of her life working as a supervisor at Vlasic, where she was admired for her strong work ethic and caring spirit.  After retiring, Josephine didn't slow down; she continued to pour love into others by caring for the elderly and serving as a faithful homemaker.

Josephine was a pillar in the lives of many.  She shared a special bond with her great nephew and niece/caregivers, Kendrickx and Tara Davis, who lovingly cared for her until the end.  Her heart extended to her son, Michael (Felecia) Lott of St. Louis, MO; her nephew whom she raised as her own, Henry (Lydia) Washington of Miami, FL; her special nieces, Martha Wallace of Greenville, MS, and Jacqueline (Robert) Williams of Compton, CA; and her lifelong friend, Edna Jackson of Greenville.

Those who knew Josephine will remember her warmth, her sense of humor, her strength, and her unwavering faith.  She was the kind of woman who made everyone feel like family.  Her love and kindness touched generations, and her legacy will continue to shine through the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
