Johnny Wesley Thomas was born on October 10, 1946 in Cleveland, MS to the late Bernard Sr. and Ruthie Mae Thomas-Wesley.
Johnny accepted Christ at an early age at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Renova, MS where he attended with his family.
Johnny graduated from East Side High School in 1968 and still was a dedicated Trojan Alumni & supporter years later. After graduation, he became employed at D & L in Cleveland, MS until it's closing. He then became an employee at Color Tile in Cleveland, MS until the factory was also closed. Subsequently, Johnny went to work for Southern Fastners in Greenville, MS until his retirement in 2018.
Johnny was an outstanding citizen of the Town of Merigold where he built his legacy. He served a loyal position as Alderman on the city council of Merigold for 29 years. During his past time, Johnny enjoyed hunting, fishing, and welding. Johnny was also a member of the Button Buck Hunting Club in Lexington, MS.
Johnny married Veronica Neal on September 19, 1969. To this union, two children were born Tammye Neal, Orlando Thomas, and the family's pet companion, Sparkee Thomas.
