Johnny Sims, affectionately called "Mike" by all who knew him, was born March 18, 1960 in Choctaw, MS to the union of Henry Willie and Pearlie Mae Sims. Mike confessed Christ at an early age at the Mt. Zion M.B. Church. He received his formal education at Shaw High School when circumstances beyond his control led him to seek gainful employment to help with the care of his siblings. Having beeing reared in Shaw, Mike remained there and found great joy through his employment with Morgan Brother's farm where he remained employed for 34 years until his health failed. Mike quietly departed this life on December 24, 2011 at his residence.
