John was born the third of Essie and John Norris, Sr. on January 20, 1948.
On June 12, 1967, John married Rosie Mae Jones. As a result of this union, six children resulted, Herbert, Bernice, James, Sharon, Alfonso and Angela.
On January 3, 2003, John, Jr. married Wanda Giles.
