Jessie Lee Jones was born May 12, 1936 to the late Mr. Jessie Reynolds and Mrs. Augusta Fox.

She professed her hope in Christ at an early age and joined Peter's Rock Missionary Baptist Church, Pace, MS. Mrs. Jones remained a lifetime, faithful and devoted member under the leadership of her father, the late Reverend Fox and now under the leadership of Pastor Andre Harris. Mrs. Jessie was a faithful member of the Mother's Board at Peter's Rock until her health failed.

She departed this earth when she heard the voice of her Lord and Saviour say, "welcome home my good and faithful servant". Mrs. Jones answered the call to Glory on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Carle Hospital in Champaign, IL. She is now wearing her crown of righteousness. Mrs. Jones was married to the late Mr. Henry Jones, Sr. and together they shared fifty-five wonderful years.

Preceding her in death were: her father, Jessie Reynolds, mother, Augusta Fox, daughter, Luradine, son, Oscar, granddaughter, Shondra, grandsons, Temarquis and Robert Johnson, Jr. and great-grandson, Jovon Jones. Also, preceding her in death were her sisters and brothers: Daisy, Willie Bee, Dora, Bessie, Jessie Jr., Robert, and James.

Mrs. Jones was a loving wife, an amazing mother and a Godsend to her grandchildren. By God 's and man's standards, she was a virtuous woman. Her amazing smile was infectious and instantly caused those around her to smile as well. Mrs. Jones had the biggest heart and would help anyone who needed her. She was an excellent cook and welcomed everyone to sit at the table and share one of her mouth-watering meals. She enjoyed going for walks, attending her garden and listening to Mahalia Jackson and Shirley Caesar. On the rare times you found her sitting, she would be watching her favorite western or Walker Texas Ranger. Mrs. Jones loved her family with all her heart and soul. She especially loved shopping and going to garage sales with her daughters and loving on her grandchildren. She was proud of her entire family and no birthday or celebration was complete without her call or presence.

Mrs. Jones leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories her children: Robert Reynolds (Anita), James Reynolds, Charlene Johnson (Marcus), Jollar Reynolds, Richard Reynolds, (Marilyn) all of Champaign; IL. Lottie Carter (Bobby) of Beulah, MS; Lois McCoy (Leroy) of Easton, MD; Carolyn McCoy of Decatur, GA; Henry Jones, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN, Audrey Peppers (Anthony) of Urbana, IL; Tony Jones-Butler (Kellie) of Kissimmee, FL.; Vicky Jones of Champaign, IL; Bryant Jones, of Indianapolis, IN; Alonzo Jones (Chevette) of Dacula, GA; Ronnie Jones (Brenda) of Champaign, IL; John Jones (Charmaine) of Mesa, AZ; Dorothy Johnson (late Robert) of Pace, MS; Leathea Williams of Chicago, IL; Ruby Williams of Kankakee, IL; Renae McKnight (Thomas) of Rosedale, MS; Willie Jones (Althea) of Las Vegas, NE; Robert Walls (Barbara) of Memphis, TN; Barbara Jeans Jones of Chicago; Arzah Gillespie (Rommie); Robert Mayfield, Jeanette Gillespie all of Champaign, IL. She also leaves to cherish her memories loving sisters: Idella Edwards and Mary Woods both from Memphis; TN, Betty Reynolds-Washington and Christene Reynolds-Thomas both from Houston, TX; Ruth Proctor of Cleveland, MS and Mary Reynolds-Thomas of Greenville, MS and a brother, Edward Reynolds. She leaves one hundred and forty-three grandchildren, one hundred and fifteen great-grandchildren, thirteen great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to carry on her legacy and embody her spirit.
