Jerry Lee Thompson known to many as "Fat" was born to Nelthalonia Sr. and Derotha in Skene, Mississippi.

He attended the Shaw School District but later came to Cleveland and attended Eastside High School where he graduated.

He confessed in faith in Christ at an early age at Pilgrim Rest MB Church in Skene under the leadership of Pastor C.C. Scribbner.

Fat departed this life July 15, 2021 at Region One Medical Center in Memphis, TN. He is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters: Bessie Hawkins, Bernice Thompson, Hattie C. Thompson and Doris Thompson, four brothers: James E. Thompson, James W. Thompson, Nelthalonia Thompson, Jr., and Booker T. Hodges.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his two sons: Marcus Williams and Desmond Patterson, 4 sisters: Frances Thompson of Cleveland, MS, Ruthie Reddics of Shelby, MS, Bridgett Brown of Pace, MS, and Dinette Evans of Symonds, MS a brother: Henry Thompson of Skene, MS; his caregiver: Cassandra (George) Flakes, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
